Nazli Dakad is a rising senior at Bellevue High School and will graduate in 2020. She is a Sustainability Ambassador with the aim to empower youth to catalyze community sustainability. She will serve on the Bellevue City Youth Council next year in hopes of strengthening the Community Sustainability Summit she organized last year. In school, Nazli is the president of her Earthbound Club, using her knowledge from Sustainability Ambassadors. She is also a co-founder and President of her French Honor Society where she developed a partnership with Refugees Northwest to connect with French-speaking refugees. Last year, she was the Event Coordinator for her Link Crew and will serve as President this year. This year she will be Features Editor of her high school’s newspaper. Finally, she is cross country captain and a member of her school’s varsity basketball team. In her limited free time, Nazli enjoys reading, doing hot yoga, discovering new flavors of bubble tea, and watching Grey’s Anatomy.
In the future, Nazli hopes to pursue research related to the environment and human health. With the rapid changes the Earth is undergoing, she hopes to be at the forefront of informing the public and developing solutions to climate change. Eventually, Nazli would like to be a professor while conducting research. In college, she wants to study Environmental Health.
