During summer of 2007 we were both offered an intern position working at the Institute for Systems Biology in the Baliga Lab. Throughout the summer we had the great opportunity to work with teachers and scientists to develop science curriculum for the Bellevue School District. We were also exposed to research experience so we could have a better understanding of what it means to be a research scientist and grasp the basic concepts of microbiology. The friendly and helpful people in the Baliga lab helped make this a valuable experience for both of us!
